La Petite Chabanne is located in the northern tip of the Dordogne in south-western France. It is roughly in the centre of a triangle between the towns of Limoges, Périgueux and Angoulême. It is three miles from St Mathieu to the north and the nearest village, one mile away is called Champniers. We are approximately an hour and a half from the seaside resorts of Royan and Ile de Ré near La Rochelle on the Atlantic coast. We are between 7 and 12 hours drive from the northern ports and 430 km south of Paris.

How to get there (from the UK)
La Petite Chabanne is easy to get to and can be reached either by air, train, ferry or hovercraft and car. You will need your own transport once you are here if you wish to explore independently in view of the lack of public transport locally. By Car

Directions for Motorists
From CALAIS head for Paris, then Orléans, Châteauroux and on to Limoges. Here, take the south-west road to Aixe-sur-Vienne, then the N21 through Sereilhac and turn right onto the D699 towards Gorre. Continue through Cussac and on to St Mathieu.
From ST MATHIEU take the D675 (direction Nontron or Piégut) and after roughly 4km turn right towards Reilhac onto the D110. After 1km you will go through La Chabanne and out the other side. You will then see the house up on the right hand side. Turn right and then right again into the drive.
From CAEN, CHERBOURG & LE HAVRE head for Le Mans, then Tours, Poitiers, Confolens, Rochechoaurt and on to St Mathieu. From St Mathieu follow the directions above.
